Tunis and the African Economic Forum 2018
The African Economic Forum 2018 held on the 16th of January in Tunis, was mainly focused on encouraging the African countries to join the Economic Council for a strong African infrastructure, and to raise the African economies by making from the continent a platform of exchange and investment between the African countries and the world. In this Tunisia's meeting, the diplomatic representations rose to 12, including those in Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso and Nairobi in Kenya.
Tunisia, already a member of the Economic Community of West African State (ECOWAS), will join in April 2018 the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA). Itinerant business missions to African and Asian countries will be organized in a bid to make of Tunisia a regional hub, develop triangular partnerships (European or Asian) and encourage Tunisian investors to conquer the African market.
