The Jumbo Centre, a leading tissue producer in South Africa, has commenced operations of an AHEAD 1.8 tissue line provided by Toscotec at their Johannesburg facility. This marks a repeat collaboration between Jumbo Centre and Toscotec following the successful installation of another complete tissue machine at the same mill in 2020.

 

The AHEAD 1.8 machine boasts a sheet trim width of 2,750 mm, an operating speed of 1,800 m/min, and a production capacity exceeding 30,000 tons per year. It incorporates cutting-edge features including the latest TT NextPress shoe press design, a third-generation TT SYD Steel Yankee Dryer, and the highly efficient TT Hood. Toscotec’s supply encompasses the entire production line from bale handling and stock preparation systems to the electrification and control system of the tissue machine. Additionally, associated services such as detailed engineering, erection supervision, commissioning, training, and start-up are provided.
