New Tissue Mill Set to Launch in Algeria

Wafa, a prominent name in the tissue paper industry, is close to realizing its ambitious move in purchasing a state-of-the-art tissue production line. This strategic expansion is expected to significantly boost the country’s tissue paper production capacity. The company is in the final stages of discussions to secure a cutting-edge tissue machine, marking a major milestone in a project that has advanced steadily over the past few years, despite facing several challenges. A comprehensive supply of equipment from a renowned machine manufacturer has been central to this progress.

The project discussions are nearing a conclusion, with Wafa set to finalize the purchase of a fully integrated production line. This line will be specifically designed to meet the rising demand for premium-quality tissue paper, not only in Algeria but across the wider region as well.

The new mill will elevate Wafa’s production capabilities, allowing the company to manufacture a diverse range of hygienic tissue paper products in jumbo roll format. These products will cover various tissue grades, from the lightweight 12.5 gsm (grams per square meter) facial tissues to heavier 38 gsm towels. The mill’s product lineup will include facial tissues, toilet paper, napkins, and kitchen towels, all adhering to the highest standards for both domestic and international markets.

Wafa has been a major player in the tissue paper converting industry for over a decade, successfully establishing its presence in Algeria and neighboring markets. The new mill is poised to further strengthen Wafa’s position, enabling the company to meet the increasing demand for high-quality, hygienic tissue products in the region. With the new facility, Wafa will produce premium-grade tissue paper, which will significantly boost its market share and production output.

Set to begin full operations in 18 months, the new facility is a critical step in Wafa’s growth strategy, aligning with the company’s commitment to innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction. Once operational, the mill is expected to play a key role in the transformation of Algeria’s tissue paper industry, positioning Wafa as a leader in the sector.
