A New Tissue Mill Set to Launch in Ivory Coast

The Nano Srl initiative to establish a new Tissue production line in Abidjan is nearing its final stages. The company is currently gearing up for the commencement of operations for its brand-new Tissue machine. Despite all odds, this project, which commenced two years ago, reached fruition following the comprehensive equipment supply from Recard Italy before its financial difficulties came to public.

The newly constructed turnkey facility comprises a complete production line specifically tailored to produce high-quality paper for domestic use, featuring a complete stock preparation line, a tissue machine outfitted with state-of-the-art crescent former technology capable of generating a 2750 mm wide jumbo roll.

Designed for optimal performance, the tissue machine is set to achieve a maximum operating speed of 1300 meters per minute and a production rate of 55 tons per day. The plant is equipped with all necessary auxiliary machinery, as well as complete electrification and automation systems.

Initially, Recard was responsible for installation supervision, start-up support, and training. However, following Recard's administration difficulties, Nano Mill had to mobilize a dedicated start-up team along with alternative machinery, electrical, and automation suppliers to oversee the installation and initiation of operations.

Nano Tissue will boast the capability to manufacture a diverse range of hygienic tissue paper in jumbo rolls for various tissue paper grades, spanning from 12.5 gsm to 38 gsm towels. These products will include facial tissues, toilet paper, napkins, and kitchen towels.

Nano is already engaged in tissue paper converting and has successfully penetrated the market in Ivory Coast and its neighboring nations since a decade.

Upon full operation, the plant is anticipated to yield an impressive 20,000 tons per year of premium-grade paper. The inauguration of the new plant is slated for April 2024.
